Dr. Jeshana Avent-Johnson is a Psychologist and serves as the Department Chair, College of Behavioral Sciences as well as Professor at Argosy University- Inland Empire Campus. She has taught graduate level psychology courses in a variety of subject areas and settings. Dr. Johnson has a diverse clinical training background including inpatient and outpatient assessment and treatment, evaluation, individual, family and group therapy in hospital, community mental health, college and juvenile detention settings. Dr. Johnson has worked with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, adolescents and adults from parole to honor roll.
Dr. Avent-Johnson specializes in Couples, Sex, and Family Therapy. Her clinical experience has been significant in helping individuals, couples and families develop and evolve within the therapeutic process. Dr. Johnson uses a Differentiation-Based Crucible Therapy that focuses on helping you reach your sexual potential by increasing your capacity for intimacy and passion, in the process of resolving sexual or relationship related issues. Her approach will provide you with a window into yourself, your partner and your relationship, thus, causing personal growth and a higher level of differentiation. Dr. Johnson is warm and supportive, yet challenging and direct. Dr. Johnson will assist individuals and couples in “holding onto self while maintaining relationships with others”.
